Abstract

This study investigates the role of Christian Religious Education (CRE) for adolescents and youth in the development of a democratic nation, using references from the Christian Scriptures, including Matthew 7:13-23; 22:16; Acts 16:17; Acts 15:14; Romans 9:17; and 1 Corinthians 3:15. A qualitative approach was employed in this research, focusing on textual and biblical context analysis. The research findings indicate that CRE plays a crucial role in shaping adolescents' and youth's understanding of democratic principles, societal responsibility, and inclusive citizenship. The implications of this research underscore the importance of a contextual and relevant CRE approach in shaping a democratic and responsible society. The research objectives can focus on enhancing public awareness and participation, especially among the younger generation, in the democratic process in Indonesia. Increasing Awareness Enhancing public awareness, including that of the younger generation, about the importance of democracy and their role in building a democratic nation. Thus, they can be more active and creative in utilizing technology to influence politics and improve the democratic system in Indonesia.
